Q How many hours a night do you sleep?
My goal is eight but I sometimes end up closer to seven. It’s the quality of sleep that’s just as, if not more, important than the number of hours. You go to a bad motel, sleep on a bad mattress, you can lay there for 10 hours but get hardly any rest at all.
The next sign that you need to visit to get yourself a new mattress is allergies. If you are having allergies that won’t go away, then you could be sleeping on a bad mattress. And if that mattress is made of substances that bring allergy then that is definitely a sign that you need a new mattress. You need to get a mattress that is designed to minimize allergic reactions. Also, if you are allergic to one of the mattress components, you will still need to get a different mattress. You must also wash your mattress always. Things like dust mites accumulate on dirty mattresses and they cause more allergies.
If you are sleeping on the right mattress, it will support your spine and weight and your neck will remain aligned and you will be relieved from any pressure. This is the only way you can be sure that you will wake up feeling fresh the next day. But there are times when you wake up feeling tired and having muscle strain. This is obviously a sign that you are sleeping on a bad mattress.
One in three British people wake up with back or neck pain - and bad mattresses are the main culprit according to a poll carried out by the British Chiropractic Association.
